About Sharp Practical Shooters
The Spokane Practical Pistol League was dissolved in November, 2011, by vote of the members present at
the 2011 Annual Meeting, on October 15. The loss of access to the outdoor range at Fernan was the primary cause of the
club's dissolution. However, to ensure continued opportunity for action shooters to participate in the normal winter
matches scheduled at Sharp Shooting, in Spokane, we have formed another club. Six indoor matches will be held, on the
following dates: October 29; November 19; December 17; January 15; February 12; and March 11.
More information regarding club structure will be included on the site after we've had a chance to determine how
strong shooter interest will be. Both INAS (Inland Northwest Action Shooters) and the new IDPA group (SPDA) have booked
time on the Sharp calendar for matches. The time restrictions on all matches are tighter than in past years but - if
things work out - there will be lots of shooting opportunities available through the winter.
Match fees are:
$20 for non-SPS members, except those who are not members of the Sharp Range. Those will
have to pay an additional $5, as we are charged $10
each for non-Sharp members. The match fee for SPS members
who are also Sharp members, is $15. Non-Sharp members must pay an additional $5.
In other words, we lose $5
for every non-Sharp member and encourage you all to join the range!
Monthly matches are held, October through March, at the Sharp Shooting Range, 1200 North Freya, in
Spokane.

NEW SHOOTERS CLINIC: SAFETY is #1
New shooters must be safety checked before competing (unless you have a USPSA safety card).A brief New Shooters orientation
will be offered at each match, as needed. Be sure to inform the Match Registrar of your status so that we know of your
need. Also, when you are called to the line to shoot, inform the RO that you are a new
shooter. There
is much to learn about practical shooting. To start, focus on two basics, once you have received the "Make Ready"
command from the RO: Keep the muzzle of the gun pointed DOWNRANGE and keep your finger OUT OF THE TRIGGER GUARD until
you are on target and ready to shoot. Be safe!!!!
