2006 INLAND EMPIRE 3 GUN CHAMPIONSHIPInformation Updated 8/27/2006September 30th & October 1st, 2006The SPPL Inland Empire 3 Gun Championship is just around the corner Sept 30 October 1. You may have already sent your entry but if you have not the match is filling up fast. Any question about rules we are following the Tri-Gun Challenge rules that are at www.trigunchallenge.com. Heavy Metal is no optics on any gun, pump shotgun, .308+ rifle with 20 round mags and .45 acp with 8 round mags. Two hits anywhere or a single A hit will neutralize the targets.
You will need to bring the following ammunition: 150 rounds shotgun, 10 slugs, 150 rifle, and 150 pistol. Weather will be cooler than July so bring appropriate clothing. Rifles should be sighted in with shots from close up to 300 yds. We will have multiple shooting positions on the long distance stage but nothing as difficult as last year.
We will have 9 stages with a new format, ALL stages are multi-gun with a USPSA pistol only classifier as stage 9. The 3 Gun will score time plus but the classifier will score as its own match. We think that this will work best yet be scored as separate matches with no awards going for the classifier.
We will have plaques for the following winners and following divisions: 1-2-3 Overall as well as 1-2-3 in Open, Tactical, Iron, and Heavy Metal. We will also award 1-2-3-Super Senior, 1-2-3 Senior, Top Lady, and Top Junior.
Our prize table support is phenomenal with a complete DPMS AR-15, several uppers, several scopes, gun cases, gun powders, bullets, knives, and over $1000 in loaded ammunitions. ALL prizes are given away by random raffle and all plaques are awarded by overall match placement. Held at Fernan Rod & Gun Club, Coeur D'Alene ID. Attended by several of the Northwest's top 3 gun shooters Early entry fee $55.00 before 30 August 2006 and includes Lunch on Saturday (Bill has promised no more Yellow Jacket Chicken again this year!). After 30 August match fee is $75.00 and does not include lunch. Staff shoot Friday. Squadding Assignments: Available Soon SponsorsMatch Sponsor: DPMS Stage Sponsors: Remington, Montana Gold, R&R Racing, and Hodgdon Inland Empire 3 Gun Rules
Ammunition:
Pistol - no steel core ammo or tracer Stage ROs will have magnets and will spot check ammo. Use of steel core ammo may result in a match DQ and/or a bill to repair/replace any damaged targets. Round Count -These are approximate counts. Please bring ample rounds to cover yourself in the event that you have to take a second shot (or third, or fourth, or...) or need to reshoot one or more stages: RIFLE
= 150 Start Time: Saturday - Registration beings at 0900, Shooter's Meeting will be at 0930 with shooting to commence shortly thereafter. Sunday - Short Shooter's Meeting at 0900 with shooting to commence immediately thereafter. Attendance at the Shooter's Meetings is mandatory!!! You are expected to be ready to shoot, with your assigned squad, at the designated starting time. We can expect just about any sort of weather...even snow (the snow season in North Idaho is often said to begin on September 1st and end on August 31st). Please come prepared with everything you might need in the event of cold and rain on through 100+ degrees and blistering sunshine. Generally, if you don't like the weather wait a bit...it will probably change. Please try and carpool as much as possible. We should be done shooting by 1800 on Saturday and by noon on Sunday. Awards and prize table will start by 1300. Lodging: There is not an official match hotel. If we get enough out-of-town interest we will look into that for next year. Coeur D'Alene, ID is a resort town with room rates to match. Much better rates can be had in Post Falls, ID (about 10 minutes west of Coeur D'Alene) or in Spokane, WA (about 30 minutes west). Air Travel: Coeur D'Alene has a general aviation airport but there is essentially no commercial air service. Spokane Internation Airport (GEG) is about 40 minutes away from Coeur D'Alene and is served by most major carriers. Non-Shooter Activities: Coeur D'Alene is a resort town so there is a lot for the non-shooting family members to do. Bring them along and enjoy the beauty of North Idaho at its best! Hydration is extrememly important: Figure out how much water you think you need then bring triple that amount...and drink it. Cold water is good but sports drinks are better. A limited amount of water will be available at the range but don't plan on this being your only source of fluid. Restrooms are located throughout the range area. Prize
Table & Awards: We have a big load of prizes on the prize table
again this year. Stay tuned for more details! Main requirement - Have Fun! IE3GUN TIPSWatch this website for any updates. Do not call to ask how far targets are, will you have time to do x, y or z, can you change this or that, and so on and so forth.
This will about cover the specialized needs. All other things are pretty basic drill stuff.
