United States Practical Shooting Association

October 2005 Annual Meeting

Meeting was brought to order by President Mark Carbon at 12:30PM

The first order of business was to adopt the SPPL, Inc. By Laws. A
motion was made to adopt the By Laws, and second was called, and the by
laws were past unanimously

Next order of business was election of officers. No other names were put
in the ring for election consideration and the three existing officers
have all agreed to another 1 year term. A motion was made, seconded, and
carried by membership vote unanimously.

SPPL Officers for 2006 are:

Mark Carbon, President
Tom Woods, VP
Bill Sahlberg, Sec/Treas

Treasurers report was heard with a change of +$1186 in assets over the
previous year. Assets that were purchased in 2005 were itemized on a
separate asset / liabilities sheet. Currently the club checking account
has $356 in cash with no outstanding liabilities. Motion was made and
seconded and voted unanimously adopted as submitted.

Old news and goals were addressed as our goals were met and exceeded
this past year. Goals were to attend the Spring Gun Show to promote gun
safety and awareness to our community and to run a one day free safety
class. Another goal was to put on and host two big matches, EBMMM & The
Inland Empire 3 Gun Championship. We had also bought a considerable amount
of new cardboard targets and steel moving targets for both rifle and
pistol.

Lastly was to have a rifle raffle giveaway during the year. The raffle has
lost interest and our original goal of 150 tickets was lowered by the vote
of the officers from 150 to 100. We have sold 73 of the 100 tickets. Upon
sale of the last ticket will hold the random raffle with all 100 tickets.
Our original goal was not just a fundraiser but to use half the monies
collected at the raffle against the Texas Star and other new steel targets
that were purchased.

New goals and news was the last order of business. Again we have
unanimously agreed to host the two big matches but will find out from
Shawn Carlock when his 3 Gun match will be so we do not conflict with his
dates. One other suggestion was made to move the 3 gun to September to
avoid the heat.

A SPPL banner will be purchased to display at Gun Shows and future
matches. We will also have new membership cards made out by the October
29th indoor match at Sharp Shooting. We want to better promote gun safety
and handling among juniors and women. After much discussion and ideas we
will make a concerted effort in recruitment of these groups as well as to
grow or membership via Gun store flyers, Gun Show promotions, Classified
Ads, and business type cards for ALL members to pass out and to invite and
bring someone new out to shoot with us this year.

Mark Wiess is looking into having SPPL pins made for us to wear and Jim
Youngman has volunteered to help with a single prize table with some
proceeds going to help fund either the American Heart Association or the
local MS chapter. We also discussed membership volunterring for special
projects like these as well as helping with stage design, set up, and tear
down stages at our existing matches.

A 2006 Match Booklet will again be published and distributed to SPPL
members. We will need your stage designs sent to Mark Carbon no later than
December 31 to be considered in this years match book.

We also want the membership to be actively searching for more club
sponsors to help support us and help our community grow in firearms
safety and competition.

2006 match fees will remain the same as 2005. If you are a SPPL member
club matches are $15, however, if you are a non-SPPL member you will have
to pay $20.

Our next match will be at Sharp Shooting Indoor range on Freya and Trent
on October 29th. Robin has given SPPL members special Sharp Shooting
membership rates at $180 a year. Also if you are a Sharp member SPPL pays
no additional monthly match fee at our indoor matches. If you are not a
Sharp Shooting member we have to pay $10 per person from our match fees.

Meeting was adjourned at 2:30 PM

SPPL memberships can be renewed by downloading the membership
application at www.sppl.us. A 2006 membership card and new key for the
container of targets and props will be mailed to you. Match booklets will
be distributed at our first outdoor match.
