June 7
Greetings Everyone,
IPPSC will have our next match on Saturday, June 22th.
We will have 4 stages which will include a classifier. We will
have a fifth stage time willing. Be sure to bring at least 150 rounds. Each stage will be under 30 rounds. You
can always take home what you don’t shoot.
We will have our
annual steel match on July 20th. This is our only trophy match of the year. There will be
an application coming in the next day or two with more detailed information. This match was previously called the EBMMM.
If you have designed a stage, please bring it so we can shoot it. I just need to know what
props are needed so we have enough for the whole match as our prop supply is still in the growth stage. Better
yet, get a hold of me beforehand. Let’s see what we come up with.
Bring someone
new to the sport. Let them see and experience how much fun it is. New Shooters will have a safety briefing
prior to the match so if you are new to the sport, please email me in advance so we can have someone assist you with the safety
protocols of the sport.
Match fees are $20.00 for non club members and $15.00 for members.
Members always get $5.00 off of our matches so please join us for a full season of fun!
Join our membership at the match and save $5.00 per match for the season! Membership is only $25.00 and if
you shoot all the matches, you will be ahead by $10.00!
Also, please come
early and help set up the stages.
Directions to the range are as follows:
Take I-90 to Smelterville. (East of Coeur d’Alene 35 minutes to Exit 48)
Turn south. Go until the 3-way stop and turn left (east) for about ½ mile and turn right (south) on Government Gulch
Rd. Drive up the canyon for 2 miles and you are there.

We will have 4 stages which will include a classifier. Be sure
to bring at least 150 rounds. Each stage will be under 30 rounds. You can always take home what you don’t
shoot. I am tring to keep round counts reasonable due to the ammo situation.

IPPSC News for March 11, 2013
Hello everone. I hope you all have been having a great winter!
I will be trying to create interesting courses of fire with an attempt
at keeping the ammo availability issue in my mind. If anyone has good courses of fire you would like to create for match,
Lets do it! Email me and we can get the ball rolling on that.
The range is not yet ready for a multi-gun event therefore we will not be hosting a multi-gun event.
The steel match formally known as the EBMMM will be called the Silver Valley Metal Match
and will be held in July. If we can get 5 people who want to shoot 22 rifle class, we will add it.
There will be an entry form coming for this
match and it will also contain the rules of the match.
Our
matches this year are again all on a Saturday. We will have a classifier and at least 3 other stages. I will be
prepared for a 5th stage we can put together quickly after we finish shooting in a bay.
Here is this years schedule.

February 2013
Our final match of the 2012-2013 season has been changed
to March 23. That's a Saturday, chosen to accommodate those unable to shoot on Sundays. Our annual meeting will
be held shortly thereafter and members will be welcome to attend and offer input into plans for the coming season. We'll
also have officer elections. More later. For latest match results - from February 16 - to to Match Results.
December, 2012
Hard to believe but we are already
half way through the winter schedule. We revised the dates for Feburary and March, 2013, in order to enable those with
Sunday conflicts to join us. We'll shoot on Saturday, February 16 and March 23, in addtion to the Sunday match on January
20, 2013.

Greetings Everyone,
IPPSC will have our next match on October 20th. This will
be the last match of the season. I would like to thank everyone for their support in this first year. Don’t
forget, our brother club, Sharp’s Practical Shooters will be starting their shooting season on October 28th. Directions
and info is on the website, SPPL.US.
We
will have 4 stages which will include a classifier. I haven’t decided which classifier yet but there will be one. Be
sure to bring at least 150 rounds. Each stage will be under 32 rounds. You can always take home what you don’t
shoot.
Bring someone new to the sport. Let them see and experience how much
fun it is.
Match fees are $20.00 for
non club members and $15.00 for members. Members always get $5.00 off of our matches so please join us for a full season of
fun!
New Shooters will have a safety
briefing prior to the match so if you are new to the sport, please email me in advance so we can have someone assist you with
the safety protocols of the sport. Also, please come early and help set up the stages. This
is a volunteer sport. Without each of us helping, the sport will not be nearly as fun!
Directions to the range are as follows:
Take I-90 to Smelterville. (East of Coeur d’Alene 35 minutes to Exit 48) Turn south. Go until the 3-way stop and
turn left (east) for about ½ mile and turn right (south) on Government Gulch Rd. Drive up the canyon for 2 miles and

Sharp Practical Shooters will begin
its winter season on October 28. The full season thereafter will include: November 18; December 9; January 20;
February 17; and March 10. Details for each match will be posted a couple weeks before the match. Looking forward
to a fun season, although summer isn't over yet! We bought a drop turner at the MGM Ironman and will try it out at the
first match! We'll shoot for a standard of 4 stages but, if we run as efficiently as last season, we'll often be able
to add a fifth stage and still be out on time.
June, 2012
Be sure to check in the News section for the
latest match information.
April 2012
IPPSC is up and running,
with one match completed and five more scheduled for the 2012 summer season. The next match is May 19, 2012. Don't
miss it!
March, 2012
Sharp Practical Shooters has completed its first winter season of six matches. All were fun and provided
opportunuties for shooters to maintain or strengthen their skills during the time access to outdoor shooting was very limited.
We appreciate all the support shown and look forward to our next match, tentatively scheduled for October.
Now it's time to turn our attention to the IPPSC matches, the first of which is scheduled
for Saturday, April 21. The range at Smelterville is in development and will eventually be a strong venue for many types
of action shooting, including multi-gun. The club enjoys enthusiastic support from the governing board and progress
toward broader range services is being made. As soon as we're sure what will be offered for the match, we'll get a notice
out and post it on this site.
We look forward to seeing you at the match!
IPPSC:
This is the official announcement for the creation of the new shooting club, based in Smelterville, Idaho. The
club name is the Idaho Panhandle Practical Shooting Club, Inc. (IPPSC).
Our first annual meeting will be
on January 21, 2012 in the Pinehurst Elementary School at 6:00pm. Directions to the school is: Take I90 to Pinehurst
(Exit 45). Travel south until the 4 way stop and turn right(west). Drive a couple hundred yards and you are there.
Please, there are to be no firearms at the meeting as it is a public school.
Club membership is $25.00.
This entitles you to a voice in the club as well as $5.00 off at every match. After 5 matches you have paid for your
membership. Please support us and the shooting community. You will also receive a copy of the by-laws at your request.
The membership applications will be available at: WWW.SPPL.US as well as matches. If you let me know I will also snail mail or email one to you.
We will be holding matches at the “Shoshone County Public Shooting Range” in Smelterville Idaho.
The range is about 40 minutes east of Coeur d’Alene on Interstate 90. Directions will be included in
each match reminder.
We will be conducting USPSA and Steel Challenge matches. The
steel match will be the Eddy Brown Memorial Metal Match in July. The USPSA matches will comprise the other
months from April to October. The USPSA matches will be 4-5 stage matches with a classifier. I am hopeful
we will complete our USPSA affiliation requirements before the first match. We need at least 10 USPSA members willing
to put their name on the club list.
Sharp Practical Shooters will operate out of the Sharp Shooting Range in Spokane,
Washington. We will offer 6-7 indoor matches between late October and perhaps as late as mid-April. Summer shooting
opportunities for practical shooters will be available at the Mica range, in Spokane Valley, under sponsorship by the Inland
Northwest Action Shooters (INAS), and at the new Shoshone Country Shooting Range, in Kellogg, Idaho, under sponsorship by
the Idaho Panhandle Practical Shooters Club (IPPSC). IPPSC will share this WEBsite with us, in order to address
what we hope will be a common audience of interested shooters. New material for the Smelterville club should be on the
site by the start of 2012, with their first outdoor match likely to occur in mid-April and each month thereafter, so long
as weather permits.
